Recordando vacaciones pasadas...

En Febrero de 1983 fuimos con Cristy, Roberto, Jorge Patricio y nuestra sobrina Andrea de camping por el norte de Chile. Estuvimos en Pica, La Tirana, Putre, el Chungará, Codpa y alrededores y varias partes más.

The "Hang", a new musical Instrument: This instrument was developed by Swiss Luthiers. It's an evolutionary "steel band" instrument (derived from the Caribbean instrument of the same name) and developed in the early XXIst Century. Very intriguing sound. This demostration was done at home by our friend and local Luthier, Carlos Ocaranza.

En Memoria de Sergio Silva Gutiérrez:

En Memoria de Sergio Silva Gutiérrez: El día 17 de Julio falleció don Sergio Silva Gutiérrez, padre de nuestra cuñada Trinidad Silva Cádiz (una de cinco hermanas y hermanos). Su funeral fue el 18 de Julio. Don Sergio falleció en casa de su hija, Soledad, quien lo cuidó en los últimos meses de su vida. En el Cinerario del Parque del Recuerdo lo acompañaron familia y amigos. Allí lo homenajearon su familia y amigos, este es un pequeño extracto con las palabras y canción de su amigo Jorge Yáñez e hijos y amigos. Don Sergio fue Maestro, padre, músico y amigo. Además era el último de "Los Estudiantes Rítmicos", grupo de los años 50 y 60. Sergio Silva Gutiérrez, descansa en paz. In Memoriam Sergio Silva Gutiérrez: Last July 17, 2012, Sergio Silva Gutiérrez passed away in the house of his daughter, Soledad. He was the father of our sister in law, Trinidad Silva Cádiz (one of five sisters and sons). His funeral was held on July 18. In his funeral at Parque del Recuerdo he was accompanied by friends and family. There his friends and family remembered and gave him a deserved tribute. This is a small extract of the words and songs from his family and also his friend Jorge Yáñez. Don Sergio was a Teacher, father, musciian and friend. He held a post as a guitar teacher in the "Hermanos Maristas School" until 2007, when his health worsened. He was also the last surving member of the "Estudiantes Rítmicos" Musical ensemble, which dated from the 1950's to 60's. Sergio Silva Gutiérrez, rest in peace...

Cumpleaños 100 de Mamá...

Hoy, 8 de Julio de 2012 se cumplieron los 100 años de nuestra mamá Isabel Latorre Placencio. Lo celebramos ayer 7 de Julio en el Hotel Manquehue (Las Condes). Éramos 51 entre familiares y amigos: 3 hijos, 8 nietos, 7 bisnietos presentes más 2 en Canadá y uno en camino que llegará a este mundo en Diciembre...



Today, July 8 2012, is the 100th birthday of our mom, Isabel Latorre Placencio. We had the party yesterday at the Hotel Manquehue in Las Condes with 51 friends and relatives, including her 3 sons, 8 grandsons and 7 out of 9 great grandchildren (two are in Canada) and a 10th one was present but will be born in December...

This is from a Swiss TV program ("On/Off") that show's a human powered system to provide electricity for lights, sound and effects for a street theater troupe. The system was designed and built by Philippe Gastal.

En el mismo viaje de Septiembre de 2003 en que vimos el Titiritero, también tuvimos la ocasión de disfrutar de un excelente grupo de jóvenes que nos hicieron disfrutar del Tango en pleno Barrio San Telmo.

In the same trip we made to Buenos Aires on September 2003, besides the wonderful pupeteer, we also had the chance to enjoy this incredible Tango Group. They're very young, and very professional. An unforgetable experience. We hope that you may enjoy them as we did.
